Description

It is inspired by two traditional Tuscan tales adapted and interpreted by

Stefano Cavallini and Patrizia Ascione

The story and images come from the show of the same name which was first performed in 2004. The success of the show has encouraged us to publish the story.

The characters and scenery were made in fabric and foam rubber by Patrizia Ascione, while Stefano Cavallini wrote the story and directed the show.

We have imagine two announcers: the Cricket, a distant relative of the Cricket in Pinocchio, the one that Pinocchio threw a hammer at because he was always telling him what to do and what not to do, and Johnny Fledgling, a country lad with blond hair, a big head and slender shoulders, only as tall and just as thin as a blade of grass. Despite his build, he adores sandwiches and scoffs as many as he can whenever the occasion arises.*

* A historic figure on whom it is said that the Tuscan Commedia dell’Arte character Stenterello was based.
